The Buzz Rickson's A-2 Rough Wear Leather Flight Jacket reproduces the third of Rough Wear Clothing Co.'s 1942 A-2 contracts, No. 23380. Its Italian horsehide is slowly vegetable tanned with tree bark tannins, then hand-rubbed with seal brown aniline dye for a transparent depth of colour that gains gloss and character with wear. A large collar with a stand, typical of Rough Wear, sits above shoulder epaulets and two flap pockets, with the two-layer "Property Air Force" label inside. Made in Japan.
