- These field trousers, made from cotton satin fabric used on the reverse side, were adopted by the U.S. Army in 1951
- Around this time, the Army adopted the M-51 series setup layering system as combat uniform for cold weather. Under a wool field shirt and field trousers were worn over an undershirt and drawers, and then a cotton field jacket and field pants were worn on top of that.
- All M-51 uniforms were designed with cold weather in mind, and the loose fit emphasized trapping body heat and blocking out the cold air
- The cord loops on the inside of the waistband are a detail for attaching the metal hooks on the ends of suspenders
- 100% Cotton
- Made in Japan
